Welcome to the Advanced Interventional Pain Center website. You are most likely to have come to this site because you, or a loved one or friend is in pain. You are not alone, according the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) of the 50 million people in this country with chronic pain, 4 in 10 with moderate-to severe pain cannot find adequate relief. More than 26 million people 20 to 64 years of age have frequent or persistent back pain, and 1 in 6 has painful arthritis. Only about 30% of all cancer patients with pain get adequate relief. (source: ‘JCAHO Pain Management Standards Are Unveiled’ p 428 JAMA, July 26, 2000—Vol 284, No. 4)
Only about one in four of the 23 million surgical operations done in the United States annually does the patient receive adequate relief of acute pain. In addition, Americans incur about 65 million traumatic injuries, including 2 million burns, each year, and millions more have diseases that produce acute pain. (source: ‘JCAHO Pain Management Standards Are Unveiled’ p 428 JAMA, July 26, 2000—Vol 284, No. 4)
Pain is also affecting the productivity of our workforce as loss of productivity time from common pain conditions among active workers costs an estimated $61.2 billion per year according to the "Lost Productive Time and Cost Due to Common Pain Conditions in the US Workforce" JAMA November12 2003—Vol 290 No.18.
So you have come to the right place. Dr. Srini, as his patients like to call him, is the founder and director of Advanced Interventional Pain Center. His long list of grateful patients includes a 99 year old who obtained sustained and long term pain relief following his treatments.
Our success rates speak for themselves. Since 2006 we have treated nearly 1200 new patients, with more than 5000 procedures performed with over 90% of our patients receiving sustained pain relief. A number of our patients who have had decades of pain have had their problems resolved in 4-6 weeks.
Dr. Srini obtained B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Madras, India. For his outstanding credentials he was selected for medical studies and became an M.D. in the former Soviet Union on a full Russian government funded scholarship. As an M.D., Dr. Srini gained International experience in the Russian, Indian and British healthcare systems. The British Mensa found his I.Q to be above 97 percentile of the British population.
Dr. Srini came to US in 1998 for residency training. In 2003, he completed residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Washington concentrating on Pain treatment models based on Bonica's Multidisciplinary approach. In 2004, Dr. Srini instituted interventional pain treatments that produced outstanding success rates above 90% without the use of narcotics while the national and international success rates for similar treatments were only 50%. Owing to the extraordinary success rates, in 2005, Dr. Srini was recognized by the Department of Justice and Homeland Security as an exceptional pain physician which granted him permanent residence in the national interests.
